Sustainovation is a dynamic platform that merges sustainability and innovation, fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors to address Egypt’s most pressing climate challenges. By convening experts, industry leaders, and policymakers, Sustainovation empowers participants with actionable insights, innovative financial pathways, and sector-specific strategies that drive progress toward Egypt’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

How It Works:
The platform operates through a series of local workshops, panel discussions, and interactive sessions designed to unlock financial, technological, and strategic opportunities for sustainability. Each round of Sustainovation spotlights a critical topic, offering a space for dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and co-creation of solutions that benefit both business and society.

Key Highlights:

● Round One: Unlocking Financial Pathways for Adaptation Projects
Featuring thought-provoking discussions with key representatives from the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Environment, and the Ministry of International Cooperation, this round explored how businesses can leverage financial mechanisms such as the PPP Law, climate finance, and the NWFE financial scheme. Panelists shared insights on how the private sector can play a pivotal role in financing and accelerating Egypt’s green transformation.

● Round Two: Decarbonizing IT for a Greener Future
This round addressed the often-overlooked environmental impact of the IT sector beyond just energy consumption. The workshop, led by Dr. Mickey Zandi, Global Head of Partner & Channel at Atos Technology Foundation, unveiled the carbon footprint of IT infrastructure, from antennas to satellites and servers. The session emphasized the role of digitalization, AI, and data-driven solutions in reducing emissions and creating a net-zero future.
